This is me in 17 questions!
1. Who are you?
- Like I said, I don't know myself really well but maybe I'll start with the basics. My name is Allana Soriano. I was born in January 14, 1997. I am fifteen years old. Former Junior but now a Sophomore. Wondering why? My family and I moved to Utah last October 29, 2011 and I was a Junior in high school back then. But then, we moved and I was back to level one: freshman. I finished it and I'm a Sophomore in Northridge. And I'm loving it!
2. How can you describe yourself physically?
- How can I describe myself physically? Hmmm...this might take a while and might be full of white lies. But honesty is the best policy, right? So, I'll just post some photos of me and it's up to you to describe me :)
3. What is so special about you?
- For me, the most special thing about me is my hidden true personality. At first, when you see me, you would always think that I'm the shy and quiet type. Well, maybe I really am shy and quiet but once you get to know me, I promise, you'll have a blast! Only the people who really take their time to try to find out the real me are the only persons who really knows me well.
4. Where do you live?
- Right now, I am living in Layton, Utah. I was born and raised in Philippines. I spent my fourteen years in that country and it wasn't hard to leave the place you'd grown to love. But now that I'm living in Utah, I guess it's safe to say that I'm loving it here. It almost doesn't feel like I'm in America. It's just...another place I'm living in. I have new wonderful friends who loves me for who I am and still gaining more. More as I can manage.
5. What is your room like? What do you like about it the most?
- My room really isn't that special nor wonderfully designed that you can spend your whole day just laying on your bed, admiring every furniture and every crevice of that room. For my whole fifteen years of existence, I had been sharing a room with my younger sister, Bianca. I never had a room of my own but I'm hoping sooner I'll have one. Also, like every other people, I have my own dream room, two actually, and here they are:
- My most favorite part of my room is my closet. If you must know, I am obsessed with clothes. I love every article of clothing. From head accessories down to footwear. I keep on telling myself to stop buying clothes every time I saved enough money but always ended up spending my money on them. I am also starting to have an addiction to bags. I am already addicted to shoes so...yeah. I think it's part of being a girl. I am a fifteen year old girl anyway.
6. What do you like/dislike about you? What would you like to improve in yourself?
- What I like about myself is that, aside from what I said on question 3, I know my mistakes. I know what I should improve. I know what I'm lacking. I think before I act. I formulate the right words before I voice them out. I plan ahead of things before it actually happens. I know how to handle hard, tough and rough situations. I know how to get through a bad day. I know how to make friends. I know what's right and what's wrong. All this, I learned from my parents.
- What I like to improve about myself is confidence. I lack them. I want to be confident in everything I do, in everything I speak. I want to be able to talk in front of many people. I want to get rid of my nervousness. I don't want to be the shy girl anymore. I want to be a new person. Not literally a new one. I am still me but with a better personality, a better attitude, a better outlook in life, a better confidence.
7. What are the topics that you usually like to talk about with friends?
- If you are one of my friends, you know I like to talk about boys. My friend Kelli and I talk a lot about that topic although my friends back in the Philippines, we like to talk about a lot of things. Not only boys. We like to gossip. We like to talk about school, etc. I guess Kelli and I doesn't know each other well enough but we are trying to know more about each other.
8. What is the quality you most like in a man?
- Simple. Caring. Thoughtful. Loving. Respectful. Cute. Handsome. Sweet. Spontaneous. Has a good outlook in life. Knows what he wants. Has great plans for the future.
9. What is your greatest fear?
- As funny as it sounds, I have a fear of butterflies and moths. Mottephobia. It all started back in the Philippines when my younger sister and I were just peacefully watching television in the second floor living room. The window was open and I was enjoying my M&M's when suddenly, this black flying creature came whooshing inside the room and landed right on my nose! I was frozen for a moment looking at the butterfly on my nose making my eyes crossed. After a couple of seconds, I suddenly found the urge to scream at the top of my lungs and ran away.
10. What are your goals at school? In life?
- My goals are what follows:
- To get straight A's
- Finish high school
- Graduate
- Get a diploma
- Attend college and get a degree
- Finish college

- Help my parents
- Open my own restaurant and bakery

11. If you had a million dollars to spend, how would you spend it?
- If I had a million dollars, I'll spend it by helping the poor, donating to charities or those who are in need of help (e.g. those who are victims of typhoons), save some for my bank, open my own restaurant or bakery, hand some to my parents, build my family's dream house and etc. And the remains are for...shopping! Like I said, I love clothes and fashion.
12. Describe a dream you've had more than once.
- I've never had the same dream in my life before. Although I've always dreamt of the same guy sometimes. I am a dreamer. I love to dream. I love my dreams. Honestly, I have an app in my Ipod where I record my dreams so I can go back and read them in the future.
13. What is your favorite song and why?
- I have lots of favorite songs and I actually have a playlist in my Ipod. I ignore the rest of my songs and just listen to that playlist and never get tired of it.
14. What is the best advice you have ever received?
- The best advice I've ever received was from my father. One time, I told him about a club I was planning to join in school. It's called FBLA which is an acronym for "Future Business Leaders of America." I told him all about the traveling the club will be doing and he encouraged me to push through it. Don't hesitate. He told me that it will help me grow stronger. It will help me be independent. And maybe, it will prepare me once I travel on my own to Paris.
15. What is your favorite day of the week? What is your favorite month? Why?
- My favorite day of the week is Friday because when it's Friday, you know tomorrow's the weekend. My favorite month is January and December. January because it's my birth month and December because I know Christmas is coming soon.
16. What is something that really makes you angry?
- What really makes my blood boil are annoying people and those who throw out offensive jokes. Those people who talk behind your back, those who whisper things about you when you're far away or simply just by saying words that you know has a meaning behind it. A meaning in which you know is really offensive.
17. What are your strengths and weaknesses?
- One of my strengths are handling tough situations. My weaknesses are having more confidence about myself and talking in front of lots of people.
Well, that's me! Truth be told, while I was answering these questions, I realized, "okay, maybe I know myself more than I thought." Maybe I wasn't just mentally embracing the fact. So I hope that you know me better like I know myself now :)
