Bow Tutorial

It's been a year since my last "How To" entry. Since I will be making a skirt as my final project for my Clothing class tomorrow, I decided I'd learn how to make a bow out of fabric not ribbons so that I can add it to my skirt tomorrow. I looked up some video tutorials online and this tutorial is based on that one.

So this is how it goes:

HOW TO MAKE A BOW:

Materials:

• Fabric (your own choice)
• Thread to match
• Needle
• Pen
• Ruler
• Pins

Instructions:

1. Cut out a rectangle out of your fabric. Measurement will depend on how big you want your bow to be. In this tutorial, my measurements are 3x7.

2. Fold your fabric in half and press the edge to create a crease.

Unfold your fabric and you should have something like this:

3. Place your ruler by the crease and trace it with your pen.

You should have something like this:

4. Take the other end of the fabric and fold it until the line. Overlap it a little. Do the same with the other.

You should have something like this by now:

5. Secure it with a pin.

6. Take your thread and needle. Thread it if you still haven't yet.

7. Sew the edge so that it'll look like this:

Then proceed to do a running stitch.

Don't do anything when you reached the other end. Just leave it like this:

8. Pull your thread so the fabric will gather. It should be forming a bow.

9. Push the needle through the gathered fabric to secure it. Tie a knot and then cut your thread.

10. Cut out another rectangle. A smaller one. No preferred measurements. It depends on how big your bow is.

11. Wrap it around your bow, leaving the back side like this:

12. Sew it on the ribbon.

13. Cut out the excess.

You're done!

You can now attach your bow to your skirt (like I will), a headband or anywhere you like. Plus, it'll help you save money from buying those store bought bows. I hope this somehow helped so...that's it for now!

Official Logo

Hello peeps! Been a long time since my last entry. Of course, common excuse, school is pain and it's keeping me busy all day and I have no more time to post and keep my blog updated. Besides, there is nothing interesting that's worth blogging about my life lately.

Anyway, tonight, I have officially made and designed my logo for life. This will be my official logo until the day I die. Heck, I would even want this to be imprinted on my tombstone. But let's not talk about that today, okay? You'll be seeing this logo very often in this blog...sooner. Maybe up until I learn how to master the art of photo shop and I can actually create this on photo shop.

I never thought I'd be one of them...

Honesty Hour. I actually never thought that I'd be one of those people who admire One Direction. Heck, I didn't even know they exist. Truthfully. I first saw them on Tumblr and I thought: "Who the heck are these guys? Why is everyone so crazy about them?" and it came to the point where I tweeted: "Who are the One Direction?" and I got a reply saying that they came from the X-Factor UK.

The first guy I saw a solo photo of is Liam Payne and I thought he was cute then I saw Harry Styles and I followed both of them until I saw everyone's Twitter account. I still have no idea who they are though.

Then came the time where I'm surfing YouTube and they came on the ads. They were singing their song "What Makes You Beautiful." I tried to dislike the song but as hard as I try, the song is really catchy and I can't get it out of my head. So I listened to the whole song and I loved it. I downloaded it and *sigh*, I got addicted. I started listening to their other songs and I almost have them all in my iPod. 

Now, looking back, I can't help but laugh at myself. I always knew it'll be that kind of situation where at first, I'm trying not to like them but as time goes by, I couldn't help but adore their songs and their heavy sense of humor...especially Louis.

So now I'm proud to say that:

Welcome to the world, Clark!

I'm a proud Auntie. My cousin and his wife just had their first baby and we are all so excited to see him! I can already tell this little kid will have tons of fun especially if his uncles and aunts are still at a young age and still likes to tease...a lot! I gave him a nickname and they swore that I'm going to be the only one to be calling him that name. I won't tell the nickname though.

Halloween 2012

I still can't believe that my Trick or Treat entry was made a year ago! Oh, how time flies. Anyway, I didn't have time to think of my costume so...fortunately, the night before Halloween, we went to Walmart and my parents finally bought me the Perry the Platypus hoodie that I've always wanted so, it served as my costume.

My sister together with her friends and my friends, and Sherrie and Trisha went Trick or Treating. Of course, I didn't tag along because I felt like I'm too old for it. So I stayed home and just handed candies to the little kids that were trick or treating.
