Without any doubts, this Air Show was probably the worst thing I've ever experienced. Believe me, I was so close to having hypothermia. It all started when my dad woke me up at 8 saying that I should get down for breakfast and prepare for the airshow. I kept on asking him what time will it start but he said he have no idea.
I ate, showered, and got dressed as quickly as I can. I wore a blue short and a floral rolled up sleeve top, thinking that it's gonna be hot.
And it was the opposite.
As we got to Hill Force Air Base, I saw a lot of people wearing coats like the ones we wear during winters and they all have thick blankets with them. I told my Dad we should head back home and pick up some winter stuffs and go back but we didn't. Instead, we went on and we went with what we have. A blanket.
As we were walking towards the main base, I was shaking considering that I was only wearing shorts and I have no jacket with me. And so we made it to the main base and halfway through the show, it started raining. I was inside the blanket all wrapped up. I started shaking and my dad noticed me. He got frustrated because he doesn't want to miss the show and at the same time, he doesn't want me to catch a cold. So we went home.
While we were walking back to our car, the wind decided to reach its "maximum" level. I was still wrapped up in a blanket and it started to rain harder and the winds are getting higher and higher. I started shaking once again. My blanket was starting to get wet because of the rain so it's no use anymore. My dad hugged me as we walked and we would run together from time to time to keep our bloods from flowing so that somehow, our body will regenerate more heat.
We reached our car and we were all soaking wet. Well, except for Bianca because she was wearing a jacket. Lucky for her. My dad got inside the car minutes before we all did so that he can turn up the heater already. As we got inside, I was already heated up but as I touched my body, I couldn't feel anything like someone injected me with gallons of anesthesia. Like, "Where is my skin? I can't feel anything!"
When we got home, I went straight to my bedroom and quickly changed into pajamas and a comfortable hoodie. I took all the medicines I need to take before I get sick. I had a terrible headache that day but it quickly swept away because I fell asleep watching the movie, "The Haunting."
